ABOUT MAMA SAID
Mama Said is a food truck based in Denver, Colorado that serves fresh, healthy Southern food made the same way my grandmother made it, from scratch, by hand, and with plenty of love. We believe that food comes from the heart.
It’s why we do things the slow way and take no short cuts. The same can be said of our ingredients; we use fresh whole foods and source local Colorado organic ingredients whenever possible, to bring you a delicious, healthier spin on Southern food.

I come from a background of strong, hard working Southern women who never failed to get a home cooked meal on the table. Sundays in North Carolina were some of my fondest memories, helping my grandmothers make biscuits from scratch and frying up okra. I consider my Southern roots the original farm to table cuisine – if you grow your own food, you’ll always have ingredients you can feel good about. It’s the way I was raised, what I believe in, and the reason why I started Mama Said.
Southern Food Slinger
Mama Said has been in the works for over a year now – it all started with the desire to work for myself and combine my passion for cooking, my heritage, and my love of food trucks. Mama Said is a way to pay homage and show gratitude to my mother and grandmothers for teaching me to spread love through food and family. It’s about carving out a Southern experience in Colorado. I hope you enjoy Mama Said as much as I do!
